the year. Across the term they learned
basic drill and patrolling skills, moving
with and without a rifle, and completed
their weapons training. They constructed
and slept under bashas on Hobb Hill, and
prepared and ate their own meals from
24-hour ration packs. The following day
the cadets learned the principles of section
attacks and had the opportunity to carry
out some blank firing with the A2 rifles.
Finally, in the first week of the summer
holiday, 21 cadets went to Beckingham
Army Camp in Lincolnshire. Activities
