Description: If you intend to apply to study medicine or veterinary medicine, you
will be required to take admissions tests and should attend this activity to help
you prepare for these. We will work collaboratively to practise the skills required
for BMAT, UKCAT and Cambridge Natural Sciences Pre-assessment tests.
Skills learnt: Abstract and verbal reasoning, problem-solving and critical thinking.
Model United Nations
Day: Monday (Michaelmas & Lent Terms)
Time: 3:50pm-4:50pm

Open to: Third Form - Upper Sixth
Selection: First come, first served (max. 16)

Description: If you like debating and have an interest in world events, or if you just
want to have fun whilst learning about global issues and politics, Model United
Nations is for you. You will represent countries from all over the world, forming
alliances, proposing resolutions and amendments, and speaking in debates on
issues ranging from North Korean disarmament, slowing climate change and
protecting human rights. No experience required: just enthusiasm and a desire to
speak out.

Open to: Fourth Form – Upper Sixth
Selection: First come, first served
Description: Opportunity for students to learn about and discuss philosophy with
their peers over a cup of tea and a biscuit.
Supervised study
Day: Monday & Tuesday
Time: 3:50pm-4:50pm
Venue: VLR
Open to: Fourth Form – Fifth Form
Selection: Subject to HsM approval
MIC: Mr M Moir
Description: Opportunity to do supervised academic work - normally because prep
time is taken by another activity or if catch-up time is required for any reason.
