The Five Hallmarks of A Passion for Learning

At Bloxham we help our students develop a love for learning and that journey begins in the
a Bloxham Education Lower School. We tap into the students’ natural enthusiasm for life, inspiring them with different
experiences and learning environments. We spark their imagination and challenge their academic
boundaries, introducing them to new areas of the curriculum and helping them find passions to
last for the rest of their lives.

A Balanced Curriculum

We know the pace at which children develop can differ. Talents and abilities emerge at
different rates and we recognise that the Lower School years are still early in a child’s school
career. Our dedicated and caring staff are committed to nurturing the potential in every child,
giving them the space and support they need to develop at their own speed. We offer a mix
of learning experiences and encourage students to participate in them all, helping them to
discover where their talents lie.

A Gold Standard of Pastoral Care

We understand that the transition to senior education is an important step for the whole family.
Bloxham School enjoys an excellent reputation for pastoral care and you can be confident that
your child’s happiness and well-being are our priority. Students have weekly sessions with their
tutor, who is responsible for all aspects of their development and will ensure regular contact
between school and home. We place great importance on helping Lower School students feel a
part of Bloxham life, pairing them with a Second Form buddy and providing many opportunities
to mix with students in the senior school.

Development of Character

Along with excellent academic qualifications, young people today need strength of character,
determination and resilience to help them succeed in a fast-paced and uncertain world. We start
laying these foundations in the Lower School, where we use our broad curriculum and rich
activities programme to give them experiences designed to challenge them beyond their natural
comfort zone. In turn, this helps them develop the confidence and self-belief they will need to
succeed now and in the future.

Christian Values

As a Christian foundation school, the spiritual development of our students is core to our
educational values. We introduce the concept of faith during the Lower School years, and
encourage students to explore their own spirituality. Charity and being of service to others are
integral to life at Bloxham School and your child will be encouraged to ‘give back’ to their
community on a regular basis. We use Christian values to help students develop a moral compass
by which to live their lives; this teaching begins in the Lower School and will, we hope, provide
a guide for the rest of your child’s life.
