remembered
he school has continued its observation of the centenaries of
the deaths of the 80 Bloxhamists to have lost their lives in the
TFirst World War. A plaque to commemorate them has now been
placed in St George’s Memorial Church, Ypres, and we will shortly be
announcing plans to hold a service of dedication of the plaque which
Old Bloxhamists will be welcome to attend.
20th September 1917: 25th April 1918:
2nd Lt. John Newbery Boschetti, a pupil 2nd Lt. Geoffrey Owen Thomas, 1893-
at Bloxham 1894-97, killed during the 94, killed in action in the German
3rd battle of Ypres (Passchendaele). Spring Offensive.
15th November 1917: 26th April 1918:
rifleman Wilfrid Edward Bury, Captain Harry Godfrey Massy Miles MC,
1892-00, killed during the 3rd battle of 1900-03, died of wounds received in
Ypres (Passchendaele). the German Spring Offensive.
12th December 1917: 2nd May 1918:
2nd Lt. Alick Mayson Sawyer, rifleman Edgar Percy Mitcalfe, 1908-
1906-10, died of wounds received 14, killed in action near Jerusalem.

2nd Lt. John Amyan Champneys, 1914-
13th December 1917: 15, killed in an aerial accident near
rifleman Harold Frank Corn, 1908-12, Beauvais.

19th December 1917: 2nd Lt. John Otto Boole, 1905-07, killed
Private Horace Charles Kruger, in an aerial accident in the Brecon
1903-08, killed in action in the Ypres Beacons.

22nd March 1918: 29th August 1918:
Major raymond Peter villar, 1902-04, 2nd Lt. roland rice Powell, 1913-16,
killed in action in the German Spring killed in action near Arras.
