THE OLD BLOXHAMISTS

         The Old Bloxhamist Overseas
         Network

We are launching an OB Overseas Network to enable our
community to connect, re-kindle old friendships, share ideas and
network. If you are overseas and would like to get involved or
have an idea for a reunion, please get in touch.

         Girls at Bloxham School

Two decades ago, in 1998, Bloxham School became fully co-
educational, with the reopening of Raymond as a girls’ house.
To celebrate this significant anniversary, Old Bloxhamists,
their guests and friends of the school are invited to mark this
special date in Bloxham’s history by attending a Prosecco
Picnic on Saturday 15th September. During the afternoon, a
commemorative film, looking back at the history of girls at
Bloxham, will be shown. The film has been made by OB Will Warr
(Cr 01-08) and features Jennifer Fox (Eg 79-81), Hannah Shergold
(Ry 98-03) and Sarah Mills (Wf 03-10).

While it is twenty years since the school became fully co-
educational, the first girl joined the school in 1965. Lizzie Wicks
(née Fiori Wf 65-68) and her sister Jane (Wf 68-69), as daughters
of the Wilberforce Housemaster, were educated here but it wasn’t
until 1973 when the then Headmaster Derek Seymour made the
radical decision to broaden the school’s offering and welcome day
girls in the Sixth Form. Bloxham has come a long way since those
early days of co-education when girls lived off the main school
campus. Today, several generations of girls have flourished here,
we have two girls’ boarding houses in the heart of the school and
the number of girls choosing to come to Bloxham is increasing
         year on year.

         Careers Network update
