Bloxham School's Palmer Health Centre
The school’s health centre is based on the main site and is staffed by Registered nurses and a visiting School Medical Officer. They look after student’s health and wellbeing whilst at school, including: general ill health; support for physical or psychological health conditions; emergency ill health or First Aid; health education; support or administration of medication; and general health advice.
If a student feels unwell they should attend Palmer for advice and support. If the Sister decides a student is unfit to remain at school, they will contact parents/ guardians to discuss appropriate action. Students must not arrange to be collected by parents without visiting Palmer for assessment.
Monday to Saturday: 8.00am – 8.00pm
Sundays: 10.00am – 6.00pm
The school requires all boarders to register with the GP who visits the school site from Banbury Cross Health Centre. This will take place routinely when your child joins Bloxham School, unless you wish to discuss this with Palmer Health Centre, and consider exemption from this process due to specific health conditions or other extenuating circumstances. During holiday periods, these students will be able to be seen by your own local GP as a temporary resident, without changes to registration at the Banbury Cross Health Centre surgery.
GP Surgeries are held in Palmer Health Centre twice a week, bookable via Palmer staff:
Tuesday – 1.30pm – 2.30pm Friday 3.30pm – 4.30pm
Palmer Health Centre can be contacted during the day on 01295 724306 or in an emergency on 07812 555574. To get in contact via email, use [email protected].
