About the Headmaster

Paul Sanderson joined the school in 2013, following positions as Deputy Head and Director of Curriculum at Gordonstoun.

Originally from Northern Ireland, he was educated at Banbridge Academy before studying Evolutionary Biology and Genetics at St. Andrews University. He followed this with postgraduate qualifications from the University of Oxford (PGCE) and University of Cambridge (MPhil). Paul went on to teach at Lancaster Royal Grammar, Oundle and Carr Hill High before joining Gordonstoun as housemaster.

In addition to his responsibilities at Bloxham School, Paul has served as an ISI inspector since 2013 and has been elected onto the governing board of Beachborough School.

Paul enjoys all things sporting and is a rugby enthusiast, with a passion for ice climbing and skiing. He is a qualified Outdoor Education instructor, runs a climbing wall class and has taken students alpine climbing.
