We are seeking a General Assistant to join our welcoming and dedicated Catering Department at Bloxham School. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive team delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to students, staff and guests, while helping to create a warm and enjoyable dining experience for all.
About the Role:
As a key member of the catering team, you’ll help prepare and serve meals, maintain cleanliness across kitchen and dining areas, and ensure high standards of hygiene and food safety. You’ll support our chefs in the daily running of the dining hall, as well as contribute to special events and sports teas throughout the school year. This is a hands-on, varied role where every day is different.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Setting up service counters and serving food to students and staff
- Keeping the dining hall and kitchen areas clean and tidy, including sanitising surfaces and washing dishes
- Assisting with pot wash, lifting and moving supplies, and supporting food prep where needed
- Responding to queries in a friendly, helpful manner
- Supporting events, such as sports teas and school functions
- Following all food hygiene and health & safety requirements
- Working collaboratively as part of a team

- GCSE level education or equivalent
- Ability to work well in a team
