Merton Day House

The Day House was first opened in 2017 and in September 2020 relocated to a newly renovated and refurbished home close to the main school buildings. The House name Merton comes from the name previously held by the building.

Merton operates as our other senior houses during the day, with a Housemaster and tutor team, House Captain and Prefects. Pupils participate in the usual range of inter-house competitions and socials. The house has study rooms, lockers for storing books and belongings, and wash/changing rooms. There are common room areas with the usual entertainments and small kitchens to make drinks and snacks at break and lunchtimes.

Housemistress

Cheryl joined Bloxham in 2021 as a Physics teacher and became Housemistress of Merton in 2023.

Since joining Bloxham, Cheryl has introduced the mini-MAPP (Masters in Positive Psychology) offered as part of the enrichment programme for Lower Sixth students. She also runs both the Junior and the Senior Physics Olympiad.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children. She has also completed the Three Peaks Challenge and London Marathon.
