Bloxham is famous for the quality of its food. Our in-house team, led by our Catering Manager, Patricia Towers, prepares all meals in our school kitchen using fresh ingredients. Staff and pupils take lunch together from our servery and eat together in the main or small dining room.
There is always a wide choice to meet all tastes with at least three main dishes, including a vegetarian option, a well-stocked salad bar, a pasta bar, soup, fruit and desserts. A range of cooked and cold choices are available for breakfast and those staying for supper will also enjoy a variety of servings, with burger night on a Friday always popular.
The catering team also prepare healthy snacks for the pupils to eat in the houses – fruit, home-made cakes and sandwiches – to supplement the abundant supplies of toast that day and boarding pupils from Third Form upwards can make at break time.
Whilst there is a sufficient range at all meals to meet most tastes, Patricia and her team also work closely with parents whose children have special dietary needs or allergies. Our chefs very soon become familiar with individual pupils and can advise them what they can eat. Working with parents, they will also prepare special meals for those with particular allergies and will take account of this when preparing packed meals for school trips.
Light refreshments and hot and cold drinks can also be purchased from The White Lion Café, a café owned by the school open to students and the general public.
