The Old Bloxhamist Golf Society gathered at Northamptonshire County Golf Club (NCGC) to compete for the impressive Humphries Trophy.
A glorious heathland course, ranked in the UK’s top 100, NCGC is also an Open Qualifier venue and so always presents the Golf Society with a stern test.
Despite the challenge and heavy rain mid-round, some good golf was clearly evident – Carl Norton (Wf 71-74), a previous winner, and Tony Tame (Eg 60-65) both scored 31 points, but it was the current holder ‘Mr. Consistent’ John Williams (Wf 64-69) who can now boast back-to-back victories.
At the end of the competition, the group then enjoyed dinner and presentation of the prizes in the friendly atmosphere of a traditional clubhouse.
Another wonderful day and the Golf Society has already arranged to come back in 2024.
