Resident Secretary for the Old Bloxhamist Society, Simon Batten, was delighted to meet up with a former pupil whilst on tour with the school rugby and netball teams.
Old Bloxhamist, Bode Olajumoke (Wilson 1985-89) met with the Bloxham team whilst they were on the sports tour to South Africa.
If you have been following Bloxham School’s social media accounts, you will know that the netball and rugby teams have been enjoying their sports tour to South Africa. Resident Secretary Simon Batten took advantage of his time there, and met up with one of his former pupils. Simon first taught Bode over thirty years ago and the pair had not seen each other in three decades, so had a lot to catch up on. Bode is now living with his wife and young son in Somerset West and working as an actuary in Cape Town, and was keen to discuss plans with Simon to set up an active Old Bloxhamist branch in South Africa.
According to Bode, “It’s hard to catch up on thirty years in a few hours with my great History master from Bloxham School, but it was an honour to break bread with Simon and the rest of the supporting crew for Rugby and Netball.”
We love to hear from Old Bloxhamists, wherever they are in the world! To ensure that you don’t lose contact with the school, please keep our records up to date and inform us of any changes by emailing [email protected]
