Congratulations go to Old Bloxhamist John Williams (Wf 64-69) who won the Humphries Trophy at the recent OB Golf Society Autumn Meet, his second consecutive win at this year’s OBGS events.
Players enjoyed a great afternoon of golf at Northampton County Golf Club. Captain Simon Smith (Wf 71-76) reported: “Tony Tame (Eg 60-65) played an excellent back nine and had a spectacular birdie on the last hole. This though was not quite enough to catch the ever-steady John Williams who claimed his second victory of the year, by one point, for the OB slam!”
The overall results were:
1st John Williams (32 points)
2nd Tony Tame (31 points)
3rd Peter Deeley (29 points)
After a drink at the nineteenth, the golfers enjoyed an excellent dinner where the prizes were presented by OB John Benfield (Cr 76-82) who was attending for the first time.
