Old Bloxhamist Ben Pauling has been training horses for the last seven years, but has seen his reputation soar since setting up his own yard
These days OB Ben Pauling, a former student in Egerton House, is a well-respected racehorse trainer on the national course, hoping to have 40 horses in training this season. Ben, who worked as an assistant to champion trainer Nicky Henderson for six years, decided to go it alone back in 2013 and has since been reaping the rewards.
Ben, who trains National Hunt horses locally, finished his first season on a high, being crowned as Gloucestershire’s top train, having sent out nine winners amongst 56 runners, and ended the season as Gloucestershire’s top trainer.’
This season, Ben is looking to go even further, with several new acquisitions, including Kauto Stone, who is the half-brother of Gold Cup hero Kauto Star.
