On Sunday, Old Bloxhamists came together for All Saints’ Tide, an annual tradition in the OB calendar.

School Chaplain, Father Alex Ladds, led a well-attended Eucharist Service, before the bi-annual 200 Club Lunch. At the lunch, Ian Charles, Honorary Secretary of the 200 Club, gave a brief update and the Headmaster, Paul Sanderson, warmly welcomed guests back to Bloxham, many of whom had not visited since pre-Covid times.

In his speech, the Headmaster thanked the 200 Club for their support of the School which helps provide much-needed bursaries, ensuring that a Bloxham education continues to be available to those of all backgrounds. Members enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch and ‘Bernie’ the number generator, created by Alan Griffin (Staff 68-99), selected the prize-winning numbers.

In the afternoon, there was an excellent display of sporting skills at The Dewey as the Old Bloxhamist Ladies’ Hockey team took on a School XI. The teams proved to be evenly matched, resulting in a strongly contested and fair game. In the first half, Charlote F-S scored the first goal for the School. After half-time, both teams were in their stride with OB Flora McCullough (Wf 18-23) scoring a spectacular goal from just inside the circle. However, despite their best efforts, the OBs were unable to match the dominance of the School team towards the end of the match and Heidi R and Alice L scored two more goals for the School in quick succession.

We were especially grateful to the School’s fantastic catering and grounds teams for their hard work.

It was wonderful to welcome back many different generations of Old Bloxhamists, together with current students and parents cheering on both sides.
