We are very pleased to share the exciting achievements from a few of our students over the summer holidays.

Charlie Y. enjoyed equestrian success in four competitions this summer, with a win in the U17 European Team Competition in Ireland and third places in the Open World Team Championships and the Royal Welsh Show. He also made the final of the World Individual Competition, but very sadly had to pull out when his pony went lame. Charlie will shortly be competing again at the International Mounted Games Association World Pairs Championship. We wish Charlie the best of luck in defending the title which he won last year.

Tom B. also found success in the equestrian arena as part of the Central Region team at the U18 National Eventing Championships in July. Tom came third as an individual and helped the team to come second overall riding his grey Rebel Rhyme. Tom also enjoyed the opportunity to train with Chris Bartle, GB Senior Team Coach, and his sister Jane Bartle-Wilson, former Olympic dressage rider. Tom looks forward to competing in his first International 3* Long Format in October hoping to further his eventing success.’

Away from equestrian wins, brother and sister George and Jessie U. both had a fantastic summer in canoeing competitions. George raced at the Junior/U23 World Wildwater Championships in Bosnia as part of the GB junior boys team and was the highest placed GB junior in the sprint race. He also raced in both team events and across the competition was the most consistent of the GB junior boys. Further to this, he finished second in the U18 class over both distances at the British Open at Nottingham and also finished seventh at the National Marathon Championships in the U18 Boys.

Jessie won silver in the U16 Girls at the National Marathon Championships and, with Klara Jepson from Falcon CC, Oxford, won the U16 Girls K2 race.’ This led to her selection to race for the Development Team at the French National Marathon Championships at Tours next weekend, racing in the U18 class – K1 and k2, with each race being around 12 miles. Jessie also raced at the National Sprint Championships at Nottingham. In K1, she won silver in the U16 1000m and bronze in the 500m. She also raced in crew boats, winning silver in the K4 500, and bronze in the K2 500. Many congratulations to both Jessie and George.’
