Bloxham School’s Third Form actors performed at the North Wall Arts Centre, Oxford, on Monday as part of this year’s National Theatre Connections Festival
Our Third Form drama company put on an incredible performance of Blackout at the North Wall yesterday, just one of hundreds of performances taking place across the country as part of the National Theatre Connections 500 Festival. In March, the cast had hosted a number of performances of the show in the school’s own Wesley Theatre, after which they received feedback in the form of director’s notes from a director at the National Theatre. The students took the opportunity to put these notes into practice with great enthusiasm at yesterday’s professional venue and achieved a stunning performance. In addition, the cast also received workshops on ‘Voice’ and ‘Devising Theatre Narrative’ from industry professionals, experiencing a real taste of working in theatre during what was a very enjoyable day.’
The cast and their team of staff are now all keeping their fingers crossed in the hope of being one of the groups selected to perform at the National Theatre, but if this is the end of the journey then the cast absolutely went out with a bang with a performance to be proud of!
