Pupils from Sibford Gower Primary School helped solved a murder mystery at Bloxham School on Thursday by deploying various forensics techniques in a laboratory to work out the identity of the killer.

The children looked at hairs under a microscope to work out which matched the killer; they used chromatography to identify which pen wrote a threatening letter to the victim; and they also analysed fingerprints and footprints left at the crime scene.

The forensics workshop was created and led by Ellie Whybrow, India Willes, Honor Parker and Sarah Heath, who are all currently in Lower Sixth at Bloxham School. As well as setting up the experiments and a realistic crime scene complete with an outline of the body and crime scene tape, the students designed a PowerPoint presentation to introduce the case which included televised interviews with key witnesses and suspects.
