Bloxham School’s annual Hockey and Rugby Festival was a huge hit as we welcomed over a hundred pupils from local prep schools for a great day of sport
The Under 11 Rugby Festival saw pupils from Ashfold, Beachborough, Chesham Prep, Ravenscourt Park and Winchester House battling it out to be crowned champions. There were some fantastic skills on display throughout the morning from all teams, with all players getting thoroughly stuck into each match. However, there can only ever be one winner and that came down to the very last match of the event. Chesham Prep stepped up to face Beachborough, with both teams having won all of their previous matches. The boys put their all into the final playing some brilliant rugby, but it was Chesham Prep who were crowned eventual winners, scoring eight tries to Beachborough’s one.
First place: Chesham Prep
Second place: Beachborough
Third place: Ashfold
Meanwhile, over on the hockey pitches there was some equally impressive play going on. With a number of teams from Carrdus, Winchester House, The Manor, Beachborough, Ashfold and Spratton Hall, our Under 11 visitors had a long tournament ahead of them. However, each girl’s effort and standard of play remained high throughout the tournament and they thoroughly impressed the large crowds of coaches and parents who were cheering on from the sidelines. Overcoming tough competition to make it through to the grand final were teams from Beachborough and The Manor. Both teams did exceptionally well, scoring some tricky goals but the champions of this year’s event were The Manor, after winning the match 3-1.
First place: The Manor
Second place: Beachborough’
Third place: Winchester House
Congratulations to all of today’s players and we wish you the best of luck with your upcoming rugby and hockey seasons!
