On Tuesday 17th January 2017, a group of fifteen Sixth Form netball players had the opportunity to attend the Wasps Netball Masterclass at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

Here’s a write up from the day:

“We started the afternoon by moving round the huge Ricoh Arena, where there were lots of different stations and netball exercises set up.

We began by meeting Sam May, who is an Australian Defender and showed us some drills to help with our coordination and reaction times.
Then the England U21 Captain Fran Williams and Wasps player Amy Flanagan worked with us, looking at our ball handling and passing.

We moved over to the show court and joined up with Rugby School, to play a match umpired by some of the Wasps coaches, and those that were off did a passing drill with Rachel Dunn, one of the England Goal Shooters!

Finally we went to the inflatable court, where Wasps players Josie Huckle and Sophia Candappa played an invasion game with us.

After having our photos with the players and Tamsin Greenway, we were given certificates and flags to remember the day. We would like to thank Wasps for this opportunity and we will definitely be back to watch them play some of their Superleague games this season.”
