On Monday 24th November, two local entrepreneurs and over a dozen Bloxham School pupils met over breakfast to discuss various careers-related issues
Emma Needell, a Chartered Physiotherapist and owner of Godswell Physiotherapy in Bloxham, spoke to the pupils about her training with the NHS and the everyday experiences of being a Physiotherapist. Many of the pupils who spoke with her are aiming to study sports therapy and/or sports coaching at university, whilst others are seeking a profession within medicine or the paramedic world. Jonathan Tibbetts, MD of Tibbetts Group Limited, talked about the growth of his bespoke automotive components business. Many thanks to Benjamin Keyser (Fifith‘Form student) who has provided an overview of the discussion that took place with Jonathan:
‘We spoke to Mr Tibbetts, Managing Director of Tibbetts Group Ltd, who talked about how he changed his father’s business from a ‘50,000 a year to a ’41million a year firm. It was a great insight into the world of engineering and business and he showed us how it wasn’t crucially important to know what to do as a career yet in school – he didn’t decide until after university. We learnt that if we want to run a successful business , we need to create a plan to forecast what we expect to happen in the future. His message was that if you put enough sweat and tears into running a company, then any business can succeed.’
