Yesterday, a group of lucky Lower School students took part in a ‘Make a Newspaper Front Page’ workshop at The Guardian News headquarters in London.
During their visit, students took on the roles of both reporters and editors in researching and writing news stories using the day’s breaking news feed. As the day progressed the group had the opportunity to sub-edit stories, write headlines, choose photographs and produce their own front page. They learnt how stories are structured, how editorial decisions are reached and how the news is made.
This was a fantastic opportunity for our young students. Thank you to The Guardian for this brilliant opportunity, and for everyone who supported and help run the event.
