Bloxham School students have been blessing listeners with a selection of musical delights at a number of concerts and carol services over the last two weeks…

The weeks leading up to Christmas are always full of musical delights:

Icarus Trust Christmas Serenity Carol Concert:

Here’s a write up from the Chapel Choir’s Christmas carol performance at St. John’s, Hyde Park on Wednesday evening:’

Singing at St. John’s church in Hyde Park, London, was an amazing experience. Being next to professional singers with the fantastic acoustics of the church made us seem very professional and sound better than ever before. The service began with Max Tyler singing the first verse of Once in Royal on his own which sounded great. We then sang Bob Chilcott’s Midwinter and Stopford’s Lully Lulla by ourselves and Parry’s powerful “I Was Glad” with the St. John’s choir. Along with the singing and carols there were readings of poems and other performances one of which. Coincidentally, was No One But You from We Will Rock you which some of us had performed only last week.”

Michaelmas Concert:

The Michaelmas concert was a huge success and the musical students showed a huge variety of talent. The evening started with Wilberforce performing their winning House Shout part-song, Send my Love by Adele. The Seymour band, Exham Chapel Choir, Strings, Quartet and Chapel Choir performed brilliant group pieces and Harry, Henry and Oliver impressed their audiences with wonderful solo performances.’
