Bloxham students received fantastic results in recent LAMDA Acting examinations.

Bloxham students received stellar results in their recent London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) Acting examinations.

Students from First Form to Upper Sixth Form took part in examinations at the beginning of Michaelmas Term, ‘performing in pairs or solo.’

To prepare for the Acting exam, students have been working on developing vocal, physical and interpretive skills while exploring characters and the background to dramatic texts. Students learn to develop clear speaking, character portrayal and an understanding of a playwright’s style.’

Across all year groups, students received 100% Merit and Distinction, with 73% achieving Distinction – an incredible result for all involved. Special congratulations go to Rob F., Upper Sixth, who received 95% at Grade 7 and Lucy F., Fifth Form, with 94% at Grade 5.

Director of Drama, Sam Brassington said: ‘We are really proud of the students for achieving such excellent results ‘ but more than anything, it has been a joy to see the students grow in confidence and to witness their engagement with a wide variety of texts from Sophocles and Shakespeare, right up to the modern day.’
