Last week, we rounded off the Lent Term with our House Hockey, Netball and Cross Country. We had some outstanding performances in all three tournaments and are delighted to announce the winners of each competition. For photos, please click here.
House Cross Country took place on two gloriously sunny spring days, albeit over some very slippery fields! Despite one or two losing their footing, everyone who took part finished in good spirits. Crake came out on top for the Senior boys, pushing Egerton into second place, although it was Wilson’s Sam D. who came first in the race, completing his run in an impressive 20 minutes and 42 seconds, almost four minutes ahead of the next fastest runner! Martha S. came in first for the girls with a time of 27 minutes and 43 seconds, again completing her race way ahead of the next fastest competitor – well done Martha! The winning House for the Senior girls was Wilberforce, pushing Stonehill into a well-earned second.
Turning to the Junior competition, Noah C. from Seymour came in first in the boys’ competition, while Olivia T. from Raymond was the winner of the girls’ race. Both ran very well and did their Houses proud.
The Senior netball was dominated by Raymond, who came first in both the A and B competitions. Stonehill were the runners up for the A teams while Wilberforce came in second place for the Bs. Amongst the Juniors, Raymond again came out on top for the As with Wilberforce as the runners up. For the B teams, Stonehill were our winners with Wilberforce again being just pipped to the post.
The Senior A team hockey was an incredibly close competition between Crake and Seymour, with both teams playing very well and showing themselves to be extremely well matched. In the end though, it was Crake who were our winners. The tables were turned for the Bs though, with Seymour managing to beat Crake down into second place. For the Juniors, Wilson were our winning team for both the A and B competitions, with Crake coming in second for the As and Merton as runners up for the B teams.
Turning now to Exham, Barwell were triumphant in both the Hockey and the Netball – well done to everyone who took part!
