First Form students battled the elements in the Brecon Beacons this weekend in an intensive couple of days of outdoor activities.

Students took on canoeing (in the rain!) along the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal and raft building, with those ending up in the water through choice this year! Mention ‘toblerone’ or ‘cheese press’ to any pupil who braved the caving, and they will tell you about sliding sideways through a 10 metre horizontal gap no more than a foot high, or filling their boots up with water as they negotiated the smallest rabbit warren of tunnels amongst the moths and spiders.

It was a terrific opportunity for our newest arrivals in Exham House to bond as a year group through shared experiences and challenges. Everyone involved can be proud of what they achieved.

Thank you to Mrs Cochran for leading the trip and to Mr Redpath for this report. Click here to view photos from the trip.
