On Sunday, 15 First Form girls travelled to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry to watch their first ever game of superleague netball.
On arrival, the group received some special news – that they had been chosen as one the VIP schools of the day, and were to form the guard of honour for the players on court, to be the ball girls for the evening and to deliver the ball onto court for the first centre pass!
Luna did an amazing job walking out with international umpire Gary Burgess to give the match ball to the Celtic Dragon’s centre and returned to a huge round of applause. Annette, Hannah, Caitlin, Georgia, Ellie and Rachel were the ball girls and the rest of the team lead the players out onto court.’
The girls enjoyed the match, especially taking note of how fast the game was and how many goals were scored – more goals in that match that they had scored in the season!
After the game the group went court-side to meet the players, who spent time with the girls giving autographs and taking selfies.
It was a fantastic evening, and a trip that the girls will remember forever! A huge thank you to Wasps Netball for this opportunity, and to everyone who made the trip such a success.
