Riding at Bloxham has been going from strength to strength recently and particular congratulations go to Lillie Bailey and India Willes on their recent triumphant performances

Back in August India Willes, Bloxham Lower Sixth Former, travelled to Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire, to compete in the National Pony Club Championships. India gained her place at this latest event by winning the title of Area 9 Pony Club champion for the North Cotswold Pony Club earlier in the season. She competed in the Eventing Championship alongside her three teammates, as well as taking part in the individual event, achieving a fantastic team win and finishing as runner-up in her individual class. These results meant India was selected by the Pony Club to represent them at the recent Blenheim Horse Trials, as well as her success being covered in a recent issue of Horse and Hound.

Meanwhile, Upper Sixth student Lillie Bailey competed at Gatcombe Park’s Festival of British Eventing in early August, alongside her three teammates from the Warwickshire Hunt. Lillie and team took part in the Show Jumping, a tough two-round event. They scored just four points in their first round (reportedly they best they have ever scored in a first round before), before topping that success in scoring a completely clear second round! It was an extremely exciting event for the Warwickshire Hunt team, who were delighted to come away finishing in silver medal position and they were all privileged to compete at such an illustrious venue.

Lillie and India are both members of the ever-successful Bloxham Equestrian team as well as riding with their respective Hunts and regularly competing across the country.

Everyone at the school wishes both the girls and their Bloxham teammates the best of luck as they continue to compete.
