At the end of the Michaelmas Term, Crake’s Annual Curry Night raised ‘855 for Dove House Hospice in Hull.
This was a real community event, with help from Mr Harvey and some of his Food Tech classes who sliced over 100 onions! The Crake boys cooked 120 curries on the Friday evening, with several students putting in a three-hour shift in the kitchen from 7.30pm-10.30pm. The curries were individually packed and bagged up on the Saturday and stored in various fridges throughout the house, before being taken home on Saturday afternoon.
16 boys stayed in over the weekend and devoured the curry supper as a house. Parents, students and those onsite then came together online to enjoy the entertaining Third and Sixth Form videos followed by the all-important raffle draw.
Crake chose to raise funds for Dove House Hospice as they cared for the partner of Saul Beavis (recent former Assistant Housemaster) before her passing. A great effort from all of Crake House who raised ‘855 for the hospice.
