Earlier this week, Bloxham’s Yearlings (U14) A XV rugby team carried off the Oxfordshire County Cup after a hard-fought 24-0 victory in the final against Blessed George Napier School.

Bloxham reached half-time 17-0 ahead thanks to tries from Seb H (2) and Jonny S, and added another in the second half from captain Joe C. BGN had some powerful runners of their own, and Bloxham’ committed tackling played a big part in their victory, while Tomas H at fly-half provided an object lesson in when to kick and when to release his strong-running backs; he also converted two of the tries.

Bloxham’s coaches Mr Webber and Mr Cowley were delighted with their side’s performance, which comes at the end of a season where the boys have won 11 out of 13 games and showed great potential for future seasons, not least in terms of the fierce competition for places in the team.

Well done team!
