Over 30 schools travelled across the country to compete at Holland & Holland’s stunning grounds last week for the Independent School Clay Pigeon Shooting Championships 2022.
A fantastic day of competitive shooting saw both Bloxham teams leave within the top five places, with the A Team claiming the overall victory by a 9 point margin.
In typical Bloxham spirit, both teams performed outstandingly outshooting the likes of teams from Eton, Millfield, Rugby, and Pangbourne.
With Sam B shooting 70/80, Teddy shooting 69/80, Tom A shooting 68/80 and James G shooting 61/80, our A Team achieved a combined score of 342, followed by Strathallan’s A Team on 333.
Pam Eagles, who runs Bloxham’s Clay Pigeon Shooting Club, had this to say:
A very professional approach from the pupils who had great team spirit and composure. We are very proud of them.
This performance is not unprecedented however, with Bloxham A teams winning the National Schools Championships in 1999-2001, 2012, 2013, 2017, and 2018 and Bloxham B Teams winning their class at Nationals in 2005 – 2007, 2017, and 2018.
