On Friday 23rd February, Cadets and Officers of the Bloxham School CCF Contingent welcomed retired Old Bloxhamist General Sir Adrian Bradshaw (Wn 71-76) back to his former school for a formal regimental style dinner. The Contingent also welcomed other distinguished guests, including the Headmaster and Politics and History A Level students.
Everyone enjoyed a spectacular evening of delicious food and drink, expertly prepared by our catering team and served with military precision by our Hospitality students. There were many other military traditions observed throughout the dinner, including a toast to the Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles, HM Queen Camilla.
The evening concluded with Sir Adrian graciously agreeing to award promotions to Colour Sgt. Ed, Sgt. Matt and Cpl. Henry, who had all played a major part in organising the event. The highlight, though, was the General’s fascinating address to dinner guests, based on his decades of experience in leadership of Britain’s armed forces, analysing current threats to world peace and proposing wise, humane and robust ways of response.
