December has kicked off with a magnificent version of Schools Will Rock You, bedazzling sell out audiences with musical and theatrical talent

Bloxham School Drama and Music departments united to deliver a truly marvellous spectacle, flying their captivated audience through time to a post-apocalyptic world of bohemians and rock.

Enlivened by over 20 of Queen’s greatest hits including “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Killer Queen,” “We Will Rock You,” “Somebody To Love” and “We Are The Champions,” spell-bound audiences were left in awe of the exceptional musical and theatrical talent that was exhibited by Bloxham’s phenomenal cast and crew. Over 50 students were involved in the production, from acting, singing and the amazing band, to ticket sales, front of house and poster design, and their relentless energy and admirable enthusiasm resulted in a truly magical performance.

The production received outstanding reviews and will undoubtedly be talked about for years to come. One parent wrote “Fantastic show. Super impressed with the standard, a massive well done to all involved” and another; “Just a quick line to say that we thoroughly enjoyed the show this evening. You have all done a brilliant job and must have worked so hard. So, thank you and well done!”

More reviews:

“Steve and I thought We Will Rock You was an amazing production and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It kept our attention throughout – a standard way beyond what we would expect from a school production. Many congratulations..” Purdy

The musical was directed by Sophie Herrmann and Daniel Parker, alongside Alex Redpath and James Ramm directing the band, whilst Sally Britten-Snell created the wonderful array of colourful costumes. A huge well done goes out to all of the staff and students that were involved in the performances, as well as a sincere thanks to all of the parents for their support.
