Bloxham retained the Under Fifteen County Cup in yesterday’s Cup Final with a convincing win against Wallingford School, triumphing 55-7.

Making the most of home advantage, Bloxham reached half time 29-0 ahead thanks to two tries from captain Harry F, whose strong drives from the base of the ruck caused Wallingford problems throughout the game, as well as one from Charlie O, after a strong individual run, Jamie J and Dan J. After half time Harry scored another, and the pick of the tries came from Harvey J, the Yearlings captain making a big impression playing in the year above. Sam S scored two tries as well as kicking four conversions before Wallingford scored a deserved try late on. The victory was a great way for this group of players to bring the curtain down on their school rugby season, and coach Saul Beavis professed himself delighted with the way the team played, and the progress they have made since the start of the year. They showed some real promise in winning in style, especially in terms of some of the linking play between forwards and backs, and the large band of Bloxham parents, pupils and staff on the touchline were suitably impressed. Harry F picked up the trophy at the end of the game to emulate last year’s Junior Colts.
