Bloxham School’s riding teams have had a busy bank holiday weekend with the National Schools and Riding Clubs Two Day Event at Princethorpe College and the NSEA Eventer Challenge Finals at Hickstead.

All Bloxham riders at the Princethorpe event enjoyed the outing immensely and gained valuable experience along the way. Day One saw competitors riding their dressage and show jumping whilst day two had the testing Roads and Tracks, Steeplechase and Cross Country phases. Our first-timers in the 80cm class, Hattie B. and Lexie S., both rode fantastically around the testing course as did the 90cm team of Evie B., Izzy B. and Stella W-C.

Our 100cm team of Charlotte F-S., Luli A., Angelina S. and Izzie F-S. lead from the start and convincingly retained the win and the Princethorpe trophy, with Luli coming 1st individually, Angelina 2nd, Izzie 3rd and Charlotte 5th. Congratulations to all!

“An amazing result for Bloxham School but just as importantly, team spirit, support and fun were shown in abundance throughout the two days from both riders and support crews. They were all a true credit to the school and recognised as such by the organisers.”‘said Bloxham’s Equestrian Administrator, Berni Newcombe.

Not to be outdone, our intrepid team of Raffaella C., Millie S. and Tamsin H. travelled to Hickstead for the NSEA Eventer Challenge Finals, having qualified in both the 80cm and 90cm classes.’

The girls surpassed themselves to come 5th in the 80cm class out of a huge total of 38 teams, most of which were teams of four who had the luxury of a discard score. Our team of three remained focused and consistent throughout the day to achieve an amazing result. Although not quite so high up the placings in the 90cm class, they nevertheless rode brilliantly and had a superb experience as a result.

Thank you to all the parents for taking the time and effort to support the riders and to all the riders for representing the school so admirably.Hickstead NSEA Eventer Challenge Finals
