The Lent Term saw Bloxham’s Third Form students work hard to prepare for no less than two productions, namely “Fan Club” and “Ernie”
The Lent Term saw an impressive array of talent in two Bloxham Third Form productions.
“Fan Club”, by Sarah Solemani, was directed by Bloxham’s Actor-in-Residence, Fiona Mikel, with assistance from Director of Drama, Sam Brassington. The play, a riotous satire, explores the teen politics of a ‘friendship group’ and the chaos and torment that can come with stardom at an early age. This was the school’s first ever entry into the National Theatre Connections competition, which saw the cast and crew transfer the piece to the Royal and Derngate alongside 15 other schools. The piece was praised by Olly Hawes, National Theatre Director, as being “meticulously conceived”.
