Bloxham’s rich heritage in the historic game of Fives has received national recognition in the annual magazine of the RFA (Rugby Fives Association), with an article by Master in Charge Simon Batten exploring the history of the game at the school.
Fives has been played at Bloxham since 1864, and the current courts date from 1909. It is thought that Bloxham may have the oldest set of written rules for the game in the world. At present over forty pupils play Fives as an activity on one of three days in the week, and next term teams represent the school in fixtures and at national championships.
