Last week, a number of students enjoyed Art trips to the Royal Academy, London, and Fresh Air 2017, Quenington.
Third and Fourth Form artists were treated to a day out ‘to see the’249th’Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy, the largest open submission exhibition in the world. With over 1,200 works on display ranging from painting, printmaking, photography, architectural design and sculpture there was plenty to inspire our artists as they embark on their GCSE coursework projects.
Meanwhile, Second Form SAS (Special Art Status) pupils were treated to a trip in glorious sunshine to Fresh Air 2017, the open air sculpture exhibition in Quenington, organized by Lucy Abel-Smith. There was an exciting array of exhibits offering creative interpretations of natural forms in a beautiful setting. The SAS are busy completing their Bronze Arts Award and this visit will help them with their final portfolio.
