Bloxham School is delighted to announce that Old Bloxhamist Alfie Barbeary (Eg 2014-19) has been selected as part of Eddie Jones’ England Rugby squad for the 2022 Six Nations.
Having already represented his country at U16, U18 and U20, this news means that his dream of a first senior England Cap is within reach.
Alfie played for three seasons in Bloxham’s 1st XV, breaking the school’s try scoring record in 2016, captaining the side in 2017 and playing a leading part in Bloxham beating Sherborne in the final of the 2018-19 National Schools Plate. After some bad luck with injuries in 2021, he has been in great form for Wasps in recent weeks, and was man of the match in the club’s victories over Premiership leaders Leicester and reigning European champions Toulouse in their last two matches before the announcement of the squad.
We wish him all the best for the upcoming Six Nations Games!
