Lower School students got hands-on with interactive problem solving challenges when a unique travelling maths show visited Bloxham on Friday.

The session, led by a World of Maths presenter, saw students work enthusiastically around seventeen different activity tables, putting their skills to the test to discover number patterns, identify geometric properties, think logically and apply mathematics to the physical world.

Lower School student, Kat, said, ‘I like the ways in which they’ve made maths fun!’. Classmate Chloe added, ‘The activities make you think hard, but in a fun way.’

Julian Berry, Head of Maths, said: ‘We’ve run these workshops for several years, and have found the experience extremely beneficial for motivating our students and getting them to think about different approaches to problem solving. It definitely filters through to the classroom and enhances their learning.’

Children from Shenington and Deddington Primary Schools were also able to take part in this exciting workshop when they visited Bloxham for their own session.
