Contextual Information for UCAS (2022 Applications)
In the summer examination series (from 2020-2021), Bloxham School submitted Centre Assessed grades for all students due to Covid-19 restraints. All of our current Upper Sixth Form students applying to UCAS have therefore undertaken a series of internally assessed examinations, which have formed their GCSE results and these have been used as an important progression step for students into Sixth Form. Our continuous assessment of students and the setting of two formal exam-based assessments (in each subject) have been used for the A-Level predicted grades.
For this cohort, the majority of students began their Sixth Form with 3 A-Levels, which are coupled with a strong enrichment programme, including community service for all and either the Extended Project Qualification or an internal version of this, the Bloxham Independent Project. A small percentage of our students also opt to study a CTEC/BTEC, which are offered in the areas of Hospitality, Business and Physical Education each year. All students participate in the broader curriculum and the vast majority in representative sport for the school.
