Congratulations go to Raffaella who was recently placed third in the British Eventing Championship.
Raffaella’s passion for equestrian has seen her competing in Bloxham School’s Annual Eventer Challenge as well as equestrian competitions outside of school, most notably the recent British Eventing Championship.
After placing in the top three of her regional final, she qualified for the championship. ‘It was a long process, especially as it was meant to be held last year but was cancelled’ says Raffaella.
The competition consisted of a dressage test, show jumping and cross country with the lowest dressage score going to the winner.
‘Due to Covid there were a couple of restrictions such as gloves at all times even if you were on foot, only one person from your household allowed as a spectator, social distancing and lots of sanitising. It did not affect me too much when I was riding but it did to everyone on foot and when I was walking around.’ ‘ Raffaella.
After some tough competition on the day Rafaella and her horse Sam (show name Five Colours) placed Third of which she was immensely proud, especially with fewer opportunities to practice at event level. With aspirations to one day become a professional rider we look forward to Raffaella’s many future successes.
