Bloxham Schools Design and Technology department have been working hard over the Easter break to produce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the NHS.

With spare goggles and dust masks from D&T and Chemistry already donated, they set to work on creating medical face shields.’

Technology Technician, Nic Hollingworth found the best CAD file to use with the 3D printer and alongside Mr Skevington, the pair began production on the face shields. They are currently fulfilling an order of 50 face shields for a local doctor’s surgery and hope to make more.

The materials which they are using and urgently need replenishing are:

  • 15mm buttonhole elastic
  • PETG filament for the 3D printer
  • 0.5mm thick 240mm x 240mm square clear plastic for the shields

If you have or are able to source any of the above materials, please contact Mr Skevington: [email protected]

Update: We are raising 1,000 to produce protective face shields for NHS staff and UK health workers during the current COVID-19 pandemic. To donate please follow the link to our Just Giving Page: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/bloxhamhelpingnhs
