Earlier this week, Bloxham School was informed that a British family, connected with the school, had tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19), in spite of having very little or no symptoms. The family has been in self-isolation since being informed that they unknowingly had contact with an infectious person during half term.

‘Working with Public Health England, Bloxham School has received updated advice on 13th‘March to proceed as follows:

  • Remain open and, as much as possible, keep a business as usual approach.
  • Of those students and staff who were asked to self-isolate on Wednesday, only those with a high temperature or a new, continuous cough should remain in self-isolation for 7 days from the onset of symptoms. Students and staff who are well will return on Monday 16th‘March.
  • External events remain cancelled for the foreseeable future.

Headmaster, Paul Sanderson, said:

‘Working with Public Health England, we continue to adapt our response in line with Government advice. We have a duty of care to look after our pupils and staff and know that our parents understand the measures being taken at this unprecedented time. We will continue to follow the advice of health officials and will keep our school community updated.”
