Yesterday, students across all eight houses took to the stage to battle it out at the House Drama Competition 2018.
Each house performed an individual monologue of their choice, as well as a group devised piece with the theme of Steven Spielberg. The monologue’s included some brilliant soloist performances, with Raymond’s Holly K taking first place with her piece as Rosie from Things I Know To Be True, Seymour secured second place with Tim R’s performance of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and Amelia H took third place with her A Level production of Blue Windows.
Group performances included interpretations of Steven Spielberg’s Jaws, War Horse and Saving Private Ryan. Wilberforce took third place with their adaptation of Back to the Future, Seymour came second with Hook, but the winners of the group devised section were Wilson with a fantastic performance of Jurassic Park.
There were some great performances and it was brilliant to see a showcase of each house’s talents. Congratulations to everyone who took part and to all the winners, but in particular to Seymour who were awarded the prize of overall winner (even though they broke all the rules!) – well done!
