Last Friday, a group of SAS artists from the Second Form journeyed north to Bilton Grange Prep School for a sculpture workshop.

They teamed up with Year 6 Bilton Grange students to make drawings and abstract sculptures based on the work of Barbara Hepworth. By twisting and taping newspaper together and covering it with Modroc bandage, each student was able to create a unique and fascinating organic form whilst learning a new skill.

It was great to see all the students working with such focus and confidence and the workshop will form part of their Bronze Arts Award qualification.’

Many thanks to Mr Green, Head of Art at Bilton Grange, for leading an excellent afternoon and also for taking the time to give a tour of the school and its famous Pugin staircase.
