Last week, Siena picked up the award for Players’ Player at the Oxfordshire U17 Award evening.

During the evening, special guest, GB hockey and 2016 Olympic Gold Medallist, Nicola White, spoke to players about perseverance, determination and teamwork and how this helped her to achieve her goal of playing hockey for England and Great Britain. She later presented Siena with her award!

Speaking to us after the event, Siena said, ‘Bloxham School has helped me set my own goals for the near future and the staff have been committed in giving me lifts to Oxford Hawks and making time to fit in training sessions during school. Playing hockey for the 1st team was a great experience and has built up my confidence and improved my hockey skills massively. The support that the sport staff have given me has pushed me in becoming a more assertive player. Receiving the award filled me with happiness and self-confidence in knowing that I am capable of achieving my goals as long as I put the hard work in.’

Congratulations to Siena for her hard work in becoming a brilliant hockey player, and Oxfordshire U17’s Players’ Player of the Year!
