U13 Hockey Team qualifies for Regional Round of the National In2Hockey Tournament
The U13s finished second in the county tournament, progressing through to the regional round of the National In2Hockey tournament.
In the first game of the tournament, Bloxham battled their way to a 0-0 draw against Abingdon, although the best chance of the game did fall to Bloxham when a counter attack move through Seb and Will ended with Sam only seven yards out from the goal. Unfortunately the ball just blazed past the right hand post. The second game against MCS, the eventual winners of the competition, resulted in a 2-0 defeat. Notable performances in this game came from the defenders, Ralph, Hamish, Freddie and Will who played in goal. MCS were a strong outfit, they had a good set of skills and outplayed Bloxham in this fixture. The third fixture against New Hall School saw Bloxham step up a gear and a 3-1 win was a fair result with Bloxham producing a good performance; two goals from Will and one from Sam sealed the victory. The final game ended in an impressive performance and a 5-0 win vs Lord Williams school. A hat trick from Will was complemented by goals from Sam and Hamish.
‘It was a good afternoon for this squad but much tougher matches are ahead in the regional round. Well done to all of the team who ‘played with so much resilience and good luck in your games against Beachborough this week.
