Music lovers were treated to a wonderful programme performed by Bloxham’s talented GCSE and A-level musicians on Tuesday
The concert mixed classic pieces from Beethoven, Mozart and Schubert, right up to current Emelie Sande. ‘The evening opened with a stunning vocal rendition of Mozart’s Deh Vieni non Tardar, followed by an expressive performance of Beethoven’s well known Moonlight Sonata. Venetia and Emma performed a lovely duet of Sonata in Imitation of Birds for flute and strings by William Williams. The much loved Over the Rainbow, from The Wizard of Oz by Arlen and Harberg sent a wave of nostalgia through the audience. The concert concluded with a lively performance of Mozart’s popular Rondo Alla Turca (Turkish March).”All of the performances were a joy to listen to and our musicians should all be very proud of their progress and performance skills.
