An oil painting by Hannah Shergold (Ry 1998-2003) will feature in Vogue’s March 2017 edition
Hannah is also one of 19 artists to feature in the’OffenhausLive Spring 2017 Exhibition, two fantastic achivements.
We had a look through the school archives, and found that in the 2003 edition of The Bloxhamist, the editor suggested that“Hannah’s drawings and’sculpture could give her a second career to her interest in becoming a vet!” How spooky! Keep an eye on her website and twitter feed if you would like to see more of her work and follow her journey.’
“Hannah graduated from Cambridge University in 2006 having studied pre-clinical Veterinary Medicine and quickly established herself as a highly respected animal sculptor, focusing on commission work for private clients. In 2009, still eager for adventure and personal challenge, Hannah joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and commissioned into the Army Air Corps. She is now a fully qualfied Lynx helicopter commander and has served all over the world including Canada, Kenya, Germany and Afghanistan.
Hannah still accepts commissions and has recently completed substantial works for the Army, including the leaping Lynx for the Army Air Corps and the Charging Black Rhino for the 1st (UK) Armoured Division in Germany. More recently, and whilst deployed with the British Army in Kenya conducting Medical Evacuation tasks, Hannah passed the time on standby duty by drawing and painting. She held a small exhibition which was so well received that she sold nearly all of her work.”
